Things to check for Physics Characters.
Load Character into scene
Go to Modify - Collision Shape make sure that Collision is On.
Then in Modify Panel select Physics and check that Active Physics and Object Gravity are Ticked.
The same would apply to physics accessories check that Active Physics and Object Gravity are Ticked.
